I try not to post too many of these articles because if you’re on this site, you’re probably already fully aware of the medicinal values of cannabis. However, now and again I come across a story that I feel should be posted, as a reminder, of how a drug that is still illegal in the UK can be used to literally save a life. I don’t like to be too hyperbolic with the benefits of weed as I feel that is almost as dangerous as being too hyperbolic with the dangers of it (and that really pissed me off). But, sometimes, a simple story can be a wonderful reminder…
David Hibbit was diagnosed with bowel cancer. The cancer had reached Stage 3 and he was told he has 18 months to live. He was recommended the usual treatments of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but he began researching other treatments and realised that many people were using Cannabis Oil to cure their cancer.
After only one month of using cannabis oil, Hibbit completely stopped all radiation therapy and chemotherapy. A few months afterwards, he underwent surgery to have his cancerous lymph nodes removed and following this surgery, his only form of treatment was cannabis oil.
7 months after beginning using cannabis oil, Hibbit was found to be completely cancer free. Now, I’m not suggesting people with cancer all immediately stop other forms of treatment and go straight for the cannabis oil. However, the fact that such cases exist surely show that it should be an option to consider? Hibbit was incredibly lucky that he was able to get his hands on the medicine in the UK, but many other people do not have that option. The truth is, a patient could risk arrest for trying to stay alive; when you phrase it like that, it seems ridiculous.
