So, basically everyone (except the government) accepts that marijuana can be used to help treat a myriad of illnesses. The medicinal properties of the plant have been discussed (and ignored) in depth. But did you know marijuana can also be used to treat dogs as well?
Should it be necessary I feel compelled at this point to make it clear you should not go slipping your dog an edible! But, CBD dog edibles are now on the market and offer a new form of marijuana aimed specifically at helping canines.
“Most of the pet owners that are using the product are using it for separation anxiety, things like hip dysplasia and arthritis, mobility pain, ageing — a lot of ageing dogs are using the product — and then we have some dogs that have epilepsy that use the product with great success, some dogs with cancer … so it's a pretty wide range of conditions that can be addressed with CBD really successfully," explained Julianna Carella, owner and founder of Treatibles, the company that have the product on the market.
Look, I don’t even have a dog so I can’t claim to know what I’m talking about. I’m simply passing on the information that such an idea and product is in existence, should you be looking for ways to treat an illness your dog might have.
