Music legend Willie Nelson shocked US news veteran Larry King on his TV show when he admitted smoking cannabis – just before they went on air.

The country singer, 76, who is playing music festival Glastonbury in June, was talking about his smoking habits on CNN’s Larry King Live when the presenter asked him if he smoked it before going on stage.

Nelson, who wrote the country hit Crazy, said: “Sure… but I have a huge ­tolerance for it that maybe everyone doesn’t have.”

King then asked: “Did you smoke pot today?”

“Sure,” replied Nelson.

King, also 76, pointed and shouted in mock indignation: “So you have pot in you right now?”

“Yes,” said Nelson, before stretching out his arms as if to be handcuffed and joking: “You could arrest me!”
