A nurse has been sacked for having sex with a patient and smoking cannabis with him.

Now the 37-year-old woman faces being struck off the medical register.

She confessed to three days of sex and drugs with the patient, who she met in A& E at the North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple after he was admitted drunk and unconscious following a family row.
The 44-year-old man blew the whistle on the nurse after she ended the relationship.

He said: “I won’t accept any blame. I think she has brought it all on herself.”

The hospital trust said: “It is up to her professional body to make any decision relating to her as a nurse – but she will never work again at this hospital.”
